Pastel Supernova
As soon as she was introduced to myths and legends, Pastel Supernova decided to share the tales of the Divine Feminine the world. She took advantage of her classical dance and choreography studies and made it her profession. She began in contemporary dance companies and later toured as a backup dancer, most notably with Nelly Furtado. Although she loved the rock n' roll lifestyle of globetrotting with bands and pop stars, Supernova left it to share her own artistic visions.
In 2012 she founded her own ensemble, Love Letters Cabaret, and has since been producing multidisciplinary revues "sexy ballets" depicting stories of divine deities. The company's blend of powerhouse performers and seductive choreography earned it the reputation of being “Toronto’s most sexually charged dance theatre company.”
Pastel's passion for burlesque trickled off stage and into the studios where she developed a style of instructing focused on developing confidence and grace. Her classes range from the art of seduction to no-nonsense fitness and conditioning workouts. Saying "Yes" is the foundation on which she builds the kind of self-love and boldness applicable to her students' life, self-love, and showbiz alike. Her performance quality and bombshell looks have won her several international burlesque entertainment awards but her focus remains on storytelling.
In film and television, she has many credits, two of which she's had the pleasure of playing herself (Degrassi TNG and DC Titans). In her most recent feature film Becoming Burlesque, Supernova was hired as the film's choreographer off-camera as well as Catcha Fox, the head of a notorious burlesque company on camera. Presently Supernova is furthering her acting studies focusing on comedy while continuing to create online work during the pandemic. Until public shows are safe again, keep an eye out for her on your screen.
