Dr. Lucky is a world-renowned burlesque writer, performer, educator, and producer. Designated a “big, bad, bold drag queen” by Bust magazine and a “Burlesque Expert” by NY1 and Big Think, Dr. Lucky’s unique comedic timing, over-the-top theatricality and glamorous excess have won her acclaim across the globe. She has headlined and/or hosted the Helsinki Burlesque Festival, Burlesque Hall of Fame, New York Burlesque Festival, Toronto Burlesque Festival, among many others. Dr. Lucky has been featured on NPR (twice!), Big Think, NY1, and in The New York Times, The Washington Post, Time, The Toronto Star, AM/PM NY, The Washington Post, and many others. She is the feature of documentaries, including The Faux Real, and is featured in 5’2” and Showy. She has taught burlesque in the Drama Department at New York University since 2005, and holds a (real!) PhD from that same institution. Known as the “Stanislavski of Burlesque,” she has taught burlesque at universities, conferences, and burlesque schools around the globe, including BurlyCon, CUNY, MICA, University of Philadelphia, New York School of Burlesque, Academy of Burlesque, and many others.
